Data Center Policies & Guidelines

 

Effective Date: August 20, 2007

Customers (and their appointed representatives) will follow all directions and requests of DWNI personnel.  If you disagree with any policy, direction, or request given, you may contact either the VP of Support Services or the President of Digital West Networks, Inc., directly.

Entrance to the data center:

  • No food, drink or any liquids inside data center.
  • No blocking of any doors or their latching mechanisms, either in the open or shut position.
  • Always close doors securely behind you.
  • Registered (biometric-scanned) users may enter the data center at any time. Unregistered users may only enter the data center by prior arrangement with DWNI personnel.
  • No open-toed shoes.
  • No persons under 18 without prior DWNI approval.
  • No animals other than human-assist companions.

Inside the data center:

  • No contact with racks other than your own.
  • No contact with power, cooling, or fire suppression (except handheld fire          extinguishers).
  • No climbing, reaching, access, or use of top level of a rack.
  • No removal of doors or side panels from racks.
  • No pictures except by special written permission of DWNI.
  • No EMF-generating equipment other than FCC-approved personal communication devices.

Inside the racks:

  • No disconnecting any cables other than your own.
  • No contact, access, or inspection of racks or equipment other than your own.

Violation of or refusal to comply with any of these policies may result in ejection from the data center.
Unscheduled tours are provided Monday through Thursday afternoons.  We would appreciate it if you would schedule any other times in advance.
