MANAGEMENT TEAMTim Williams, Founder/CEOTim started Digital West back in 1998 with one T1, two servers, and a closet. His forward thinking and dedication to supporting his customers has grown the company from four employees to 20 in the past five years, and he keeps his eye on the future; plans are underway to open another larger local data center to serve even more customers. Other plans-in-action include expanding the company's Metro Fiber network throughout San Luis Obispo County (and beyond). A class of '96 Cal Poly graduate, Tim is dedicated to our community, spending countless hours volunteering on the boards of many local non-profits. Any free time he finds, he spends flying in his airplane! Kirk Coviello, VP Support ServicesKirk came to Digital West Networks with a great depth of industry knowledge in telecommunications, microcomputers, and data networks. He has worn numerous hats within the technology sector, getting his start right in the heart of Silicon Valley. During that time, he orchestrated an audit of Apple Computing Company's outsourced data center to improve their operational efficiency. The company he worked for happened to be a direct competitor of the existing outsourced data center. He still denies that corporate espionage was either a motivating factor or an accidental benefit of the audit. On the Central Coast, Kirk was a Senior Sales Engineer at Arrival Communications for six years where he was consistently recognized by the company for his efforts to keep customers connected and happy. In 2006, he joined the well-respected team at Digital West and built their Network Operations Team up to 24/7 coverage, continuing their world-class services. In 2007, he was promoted to Vice President of Support Services for Digital West. "I wanted to work for Digital West Networks because I could see that they walked the talk of customer satisfaction,” he says. Kirk is currently serving proudly on both the Workforce Investment Board of San Luis Obispo County (www.sloworkforce.com) and the Softec Board of Directors (www.softec.org). Ask him sometime why he regrets that all of his neckties are intact… Janice Petko, Director of Sales & MarketingShortly after working as a Sales & Product Management Consultant to Digital West for 8-months, Janice was hired as the in-house Director of Sales & Marketing. Her get-in-and-get-it-done attitude and extensive experience in the always-changing telecom industry lends well to Digital West’s flexible service approach. Solutions-focused, Janice works closely with Digital West’s clients to understand their goals and bring ideal technologies to their businesses. Her ongoing focus is to optimize efficiency for clients by establishing standardized processes and procedures, all while having fun; her longer-term emphasis is to expand the Digital West customer-centric brand regionally, nationally, and internationally. For nearly two decades, Janice has managed sales teams, sales engineers, and product development. Her track record in building winning sales teams, creating rock-solid business processes, and surpassing growth goals, provides a small glimpse into her overall capabilities. At TW Telecom, Janice built a sales team that increased revenue 146% in 4 product lines and was consistently ranked in the top 2 regions nationally; at Call America, she grew and managed a sales teams that increased revenue 272% over a 3-year period; and at GST Telecom, she created a sales and marketing plan that assisted in raising over $200M in funding. |
