Bob Fasulkey, VP of Engineering

Mr. Fasulkey brought to Digital West a wealth of industry experience that spans, network operations, business economics and regulatory requirements of telecommunications and data systems around the globe. For more than 30 years he has designed and implemented all forms telecommunications technologies spanning from RF to optics. He has led technical teams dedicated to research and design functions at various Original Equipment Manufactures (OEMs).

Additionally, he has provided technical consultation for some notable international projects; the first project involved the design and implementation of a country wide voice and data network for Rwanda, Africa. As a result of his work, Rwanda has one of the most advanced communications networks in the world. Another project involved the design and deployment of a Fiber to the Premise (FTTx) network for one of Ireland’s largest carrier’s. This network was one of the first in the world to carry HDTV on Multicast IP packets in a large scale deployment.

He joined Digital West as Director of Engineering after providing telecommunications consulting services to the California Highway Patrol. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland.

Will Orton, Senior Network Engineer

Will was hired in 2006 as our Senior Network Engineer. Will has many years experience in network administration and programming, and has worked for some pretty big companies; we are glad to have his networking savvy and all-around tech expertise with us at Digital West, as he works remotely from the fine state of Oregon where he just moved with his wife and new baby boy, Wyatt. Will has an amateur radio license and a private pilot's license.

Matt Ingersoll, Linux Systems Engineer

Matth was discovered toiling away at a company in Fresno, and was easily persuaded to move his wife and children over to the coast (who could blame him) for a Systems Engineer position with Digital West. Matth has many years experience in Linux programming and application development, and is a wonderful team player. His dedication and hard work has been instrumental in bringing fresh new ideas to us and helping to complete many projects we’ve been working on. We are glad to have him on board!

Joe Richards, Systems Engineer

Joe joined the Digital West team in 2005 as a member of the support staff and "random project" guy. He later became the Linux Administrator until the end of 2008 when he moved out of the area and left the team for a year. Upon returning to San Luis Obispo, (and Digital West) he worked in the NOC as a NOC Technician II and most recently joined the Engineering department again as a Systems Engineer.

Mark Wetter, Systems Engineer

Mark joined the Digital West NOC team in 2010 and moved to the Engineering team one year later in 2011. Although he works on all manner of hardware and software, his main task is to accelerate several internal web development projects. In the rare moments when he is not reading up on new programming languages and frameworks, Mark volunteers his time with the local Search and Rescue agency.
